Portraiture is the depiction of an individual. It plays an important role in my regular photo practice - subject facing to the camera, to perform their identity or ego.
We believe that a photograph can describe one's identity, through shapes of lips, structures of cheeks, colors of eyes. Sometimes their ages, occupations and gender can be perceived.
This photo series of ten teenagers attempts to question the fundamental ideology of portrait photography. While hiding the frontal portion of a person, no eye contact, facial expressions are depicted. Audiences are hinted to tell who they are with minimal information of bare back, gestures and ambiguity.
